The Barrie Public Library is hosting a Local Authors Book Market on Saturday, Dec. 9 at its Painswick Branch.

December is a month full of vendor and craft events, but the Barrie Public Library is set to host a different kind of market next month — one that brings together local authors of all ages.

The city’s Painswick branch in the south end is hosting its Local Author Book Market on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., where visitors will have the opportunity to connect with local authors and buy their latest titles. And just in time for the holidays.

The event will feature book talks by local authors on the library’s main stage, and families can drop-in to picture book readings between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. with local children’s authors.

Local authors looking for information on how to get published will also have the opportunity to connect Editors Barrie and learn how to get a book onto the library shelves, as well as learn tips and tricks, policies, and processes.

The Painswick branch is located at 48 Dean Ave., near Big Bay Point Road and Yonge Street.
