Back from hiatus after the pandemic, Barrie Fire and Emergency Service (BFES) will host a free Hot Summer Night event at Sunnidale Park on Thursday, July 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Geared toward families with children, all are invited to join the fun. There will be hands-on activities, lifesaving fire tips, fire safety information, fire truck tours, and a fire hose shower to help cool everyone down. Sunnidale Park is located at 265 Sunnidale Rd. in Barrie.
Additional event features include:
• Mini combat challenge obstacle course
• Story time with Sparky
• Barrie Recreation’s summer fun trailer
• Barrie Police Service education tent
• Painting a school bus with fire safety messages
• Nature play activities featuring a mud kitchen
• Fire safety games and prizes
Domino’s Pizza will also be on site selling slices for $2 each, with proceeds going to the BFES charity fund, which gives back to local community and charitable groups.
