In celebration of National Youth Week, the City of Barrie has opened an advanced nomination period for the Most Promising Youth category of the Barrie Arts Awards.

Beginning May 1, nominations for the Most Promising Youth category will be accepted in advance of the Barrie Arts Awards official nomination period set to open in July.

For all Barrie Arts Awards categories, nominees must work, live, attend school, exhibit or perform within Barrie. A nominee may be nominated for only one award per year. Past winners may not be nominated for the same award they won in a previous year but may be nominated for a different category.

The Most Promising Youth category requires that nominees must be 19 years of age or younger and currently enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution. This youth will have demonstrated a superior ability in their art form. This award can be for any form of art including visual, performing, or literary.
