The following letter from Lorna Payne asks whether Barrie's beaches are being considered as new development projects come up in front of council.

In Ward 2 alone there is intent to add hundreds of apartment or condo units representing thousands of people and, for myself, I welcome anything that will result in a vibrant city centre.

I watch or attend all the developer presentations and city council meetings related to proposed new developments, but I have never heard the question addressed of what this means for the city beaches.

Even with restricted parking introduced, the beaches were packed last summer and the thousands of the new residents will be within walking distance of Centennial Beach.

Curious to know if this has been addressed.
