This National Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 16 to 22), I would like to thank our fantastic volunteers who give so much of their time, skill, and dedication for the benefit of cats in our care.

At Furry Friends Animal Shelter, volunteers are truly the foundation and life blood of our rescue. With no paid staff, we depend on thoughtful animal lovers to ensure we meet our goal in rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing cats and kittens in our community.

In 2022, we were grateful to have over 230 volunteers open their hearts and roll up their sleeves to change lives for the kitties in our care.

Because of their willingness to share their time and talents, we were able to rescue 547 cats in crisis, provide them with essential food/shelter/medical care in our shelter and foster homes, and re-home 561 via a robust adoption program.

Volunteers not directly involved in animal care provide essential supports in raising money and awareness and overseeing countless administrative tasks that keep the shelter viable.

Each day this week we will be highlighting a volunteer in a unique role at Furry Friends to showcase all the special ways people make a huge difference in the lives of innocent animals.
