Like so many other residents in Oro-Medonte, I am beyond dismayed to see our bylaw (related to short-term rental properties) revoked, banning these commercial establishments from our residential areas.

That these very few STR owners can get away with destroying our neighbourhoods, our safety and our right to enjoy our homes simply so they can make a profit is truly despicable.

So, the president of the Association has been quoted as saying he is happy about this decision. Isn’t it telling, that at a meeting last year when a show of hands told the truth? When asked who would want to live next to one of these ghost hotels, not ONE person put up their hand.

Now, these STR owners want to impose their commercial hotels on the residents of Oro-Medonte. Something they would never want to exist next to their own homes.

We live in a residential area. Your commercial businesses are illegal in such areas.
