In these times of pandemic fatigue and very sad war stories, I thought you might like to hear a happy and very generous and feel good story.

The other day, I was at the Zehrs store on Bryan Drive, second in line to check out.

The lady in front of me was finishing packing her groceries and went to pay for them when she turned to me and said she would like to pay for my groceries! She said she was having a great day and wanted to "pay it forward."

I could not believe my ears, to say the least, and I told her it was not necessary, but she asked me to let her do it! I thanked her so much for her kindness in giving back and told her I would do a good deed to keep her spirit going.

I am a senior and this has never happened to me before and I wanted to hopefully get this note published to let the "city" and surrounding areas know that wonderful people do exist and are doing random acts of kindness when you least expect it.

Thank you again to the "pretty lady" that made my day and my year and I hope this gets printed and you see it and know how grateful I truly was by your fantastic gesture.

I believe in angels and I met one that day!

Thank you.

PS: I promise to pay it forward and I hope others reading this will be motivated to as well.
