The following letter is about whether candidates will obey the rules pertaining to election sign placement during the provincial campaign.

Now that election season is upon us, the same old irritant is popping up around the province.

Whether it be a municipal, provincial, or federal elections, many candidates and their volunteers can't be bothered to either read or adhere to the rules pertaining to the erection of election signs.

While the rules state that permission must be granted by the owner/tenant to place a sign on private property, they keep popping up on municipal property and along stretches of road, at corners without any permission, and in front of cemeteries of all places.

If these wannabe lawmakers (candidates) cannot conduct their election campaigns by the rules, then what are the chances that if elected they will follow the rules, laws, and procedures under which they would serve.
