A COVID-19 outbreak at Barrie Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters, Station 1, in late November, is expected to be declared over on Monday.
Barrie Fire Chief Cory Mainprize said some staff tested positive then, but most have since returned to work.
He said he could not give out exact numbers for those at the Dunlop Street West station who tested positive.
“They’re feeling fine, they’ve returned to work,” Mainprize said Friday afternoon. “We have two more (employees), they are feeling fine. I spoke to both of them today and they will be returning to work, probably Monday.
“They just have to finish two more days of their 14-day quarantine," he added.
Any time there are two or more positive COVID-19 results, a workplace is considered to have an outbreak, according to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. An outbreeak is also declared for one positive test at long-term care or retirement homes.
“All the individuals who did test positive either have returned (to work) or are about to return,” Mainprize said.
