Hi, I’m Ann-Marie Kungl, and I am running to represent Ward 1 on Barrie city council.
Joe and I live in the east end and cherish the house we worked hard to afford as first-time buyers over 14 years ago.
Like you, we contribute broadly across our city, are concerned about the impact of growth on our neighbourhoods and want to age well where we live.
There are great things happening in Barrie and the next four years are important ones. With strong council representation, Ward 1 can drive positive change. I offer a full-time, committed representative. No hidden agendas. No surprises.
I am a passionate volunteer and community partner with broad experience in health, policy, conflict resolution and engagement design. Overall, I believe better has no limit. There is great opportunity to improve the quality of life of Barrie residents while supporting strong business and job growth.
I am a voice for smart spending to ensure value for our tax dollars and positive attention to the needs of the ward. I share the concerns I’ve heard about safety, high taxes for small businesses, the conditions of roads, rental properties and our green spaces, lawn damage from snow plows, access issues for pedestrians and cyclists, aging infrastructure, and a lack of affordable housing options.
We want to see our tax dollars going to support programs and services that are important to us and we want to be engaged on matters that affect us.
Let’s build a strong council together and ensure the next Official Plan reflects our voice. A better Barrie begins with your support.
