Winners honoured at BarrieToday's inaugural Community Builders Awards in 2022.

Last year, BarrieToday hosted its first annual Community Builders Awards, a program which honours outstanding individuals who contribute positively to our city.

We are thrilled to be opening up nominations again for this year's Community Builders Awards.

As steadfast champions of local, we strive to support and uplift our community and that most certainly includes the innovative, resilient and inspiring people who make Barrie so special.

The BarrieToday Community Builders Awards allow us to celebrate the many extraordinary individuals and groups making Barrie a better place.

Awards of Excellence will honour individuals and organizations in Arts, Economic Development, Education, Environment, Hall of Fame, Health Care, Legacy, Sports and Recreation and Young Leader categories.

A full description of each category can be found here.

All Barrie and area residents, businesses and organizations are eligible for nomination.

We will celebrate virtually, recognizing each of the winners with a story and a video that honours their accomplishments.

Nominations are open now until Friday, Aug. 31. You can learn more and nominate someone for the Community Builders Awards here.

A team of local judges will review the submissions once nominations close. We plan to start announcing the winners on Nov. 6.

We look forward to reading about the remarkable community members who have helped build Barrie into the community we call home.

BarrieToday is proud to make a difference in our community by highlighting extraordinary individuals and organizations with our Community Builders Awards, a foundational piece of our BarrieToday Cares program
