Voters in Simcoe-Grey will have a choice between seven candidates on their ballots for the upcoming provincial election.
The seven parties represented include Progressive Conservative, Liberal, Green, NDP, New Blue, None of the Above, and the Ontario Party. Candidate nominations closed May 12 at 2 p.m.
In the Simcoe-Grey riding, which includes Essa Township to the west of Barrie, the candidates are:
- Ted Crysler — Liberal Party
- David Ghobrial — New Blue
- Billy Gordon — None of the Above Direct Democracy Party
- Allan Kuhn — Green Party
- Keith Nunn — New Democrats (NDP)
- Rodney Sacrey — Ontario Party
- Brian Saunderson — Progressive Conservative
Online voter registration closes on May 23, so Ontario residents have until then to confirm, update or add voter information online.
Voters may also add or update voter information at their returning office, advance voting location, or on election day at the polling station. More on the Elections Ontario website here.
Election day is June 2, and registered voters will receive a card in the mail to specify their election day poll locations. Voters can cast a ballot at any advance poll station in their riding.
Voting in person before election day can be done at the returning office at the GNE agricultural building at 2220 Fairgrounds Rd. In-person voting at the returning office ends June 1 at 6 p.m. The office is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday, May 22 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, May 29 from noon to 5 p.m.

There are also options to vote by a home visit or vote from a hospital. Both can be arranged through the returning office (1-833 505-3411).
Individuals who have a voter information card can get a ballot at a polling station by showing the card and one piece of ID bearing their name. It does not have to be a photo ID, and can be any document issued by a government or institution such as a bank or utility provider.
