MIDLAND - Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) wish to remind drivers to be observant for youngsters participating in Halloween as they may be difficult to see due to their costumes. Youngsters may also be more apt to cross the road in places out of the ordinary as they participate with their friends.

All children and youth participating in Halloween are asked check to make sure that they can see and also be seen by motorists.

Extra officers will be out patrolling urban areas and R.I.D.E. check stops will be set up to help remove drinking drivers from our area roadways in an effort to ensure a safe and fun Halloween evening for everyone.

Police remind motorists that an essential part of the enforcement job is to save lives and reduce injuries on our roadways. Educating the public about safe driving practices is a priority.
