Two face charges in two assaults

BRADFORD - On Monday, July 3, 2017, around 2:30 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to an assault call in downtown Bradford.

They found a man bleeding on the sidewalk and learned that the victim had been assaulted outside a bar. A suspect description was obtained, as well as surveillance video. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Later that day, around 10:30 a.m., another assault call was dispatched, this time to a home in Bradford. A man told officers that he had been assaulted by a neighbour, threatened and had a window broken by a thrown beer bottle.

A man and woman were both arrested at the scene. The officers realized that the man was also the suspect in the earlier assault.

A 29-year-old Bradford woman was charged with two counts of Uttering Threats and Fail To Comply Undertaking.

A 29-year-old Bradford man was charged with two counts of Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats and Mischief Under $5,000. Charges are also pending against him for the overnight bar assault.

They were both held in custody for a bail hearing.
