Two face charges following drug investigaton

WASAGA BEACH - On Sept. 12 2018, at 8:45 p.m. at a business on Main Street in the Town of Wasaga Beach, the Huronia West OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), K9 and Tactical Response Unit (TRU) and Repeat Offender & Parole Enforcement unit (ROPE) arrested two individuals, one of whom was wanted for failing to remain at the scene of an accident in June 18, 2018 in Wasaga Beach.

During a search police located a prohibited weapon (handgun), prohibited device (conducted energy weapon), Canadian currency, cocaine, crack cocaine and paraphernalia associated with trafficking. As a result, two males are now facing several criminal code and CDSA charges.  This investigation is ongoing under the direction of the Huronia West Community Street Crime Unit.  

19-year-old Jalen Pitt of Brampton ON, is charged with: 

  • CC 91(1) Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • CC 90 Carrying concealed weapon
  • CDSA 5(2) Poss of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine

The accused was held for a bail hearing. 

19-year-old Jerome Pantlitz-Solomon of Mississauga ON, is charged with:

  • CC 145(3) Fail to comply with recognizance
  • CDSA 5(2) Poss of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • CC 252 Fail to stop at scene of accident

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
