Two drivers hospitalized in Innisfil crash: police

Head-on collision happened Sunday evening on Yonge Street, near the 6th Line

One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in Innisfil, Sunday evening.

Emergency personnel responded to the head-on collision, which occurred on Yonge Street, near the 6th Line, on March 10 at about 7:50 p.m., South Simcoe police have confirmed. 

One of the drivers, a 29-year-old Innisfil man, was taken by County of Simcoe paramedics to a local hospital, but was then transferred to a Toronto trauma centre. He is listed in serious but stable condition, police say. 

The other driver, a 61-year-old Innisfil resident, was transported to a local hospital after sustaining minor injuries.  

Yonge Street was closed for several hours as a result of the collision.

“The investigation is ongoing,” South Simcoe spokesperson Sue Sgambati said in an email Tuesday morning. “(We) are appealing to witnesses and anyone with dash-camera footage to contact police.”
