On Monday, May 15, 2017, South Simcoe Police were responding to a call of an argument in Bradford. The suspect was described as driving a GMC truck, which an officer spotted on Magani Avenue.

Impaired by drug

BRADFORD - On Monday, May 15, 2017, South Simcoe Police were responding to a call of an argument in Bradford. The suspect was described as driving a GMC truck, which an officer spotted on Magani Avenue. He spoke to the driver and recognized him as being wanted on a warrant. The man was arrested and during the arrest the officer noted several indications of impairment. He also located a quantity of suspected heroin in the man's pocket. A 40-year-old Bradford man was held in custody for a bail hearing on charges of Refuse Drug Evaluation, Possession of Heroin and 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance. He was also charged with Drive Under Suspension.

Mischief under $5,000

INNISFIL - On Monday, May 15, 2017 just before 6 p.m., South Simcoe Police attended an Innisfil home for a report of damage. Responding officers spoke to a man who reported that he and his teenaged son had argued. His son had damaged numerous items and walls inside the home. A 16 year old youth has been held in custody for a bail hearing charged with Mischief Under $5,000. He will appear in Youth Court today.

Unlawfully in a dwelling

INNISFIL - On Monday, May 15, 2017, around 9 a.m., South Simcoe Police were called to an Innisfil home, after a man found a squatter living in his boathouse. The man left before officers arrived but he was quickly located and arrested. Investigation revealed that the man has been living unnoticed in the boathouse for several months. A 32-year-old man of no fixed address has been held in custody for a bail hearing charged with Unlawfully in a Dwelling.

Theft of gas

BRADFORD - On the morning of Saturday, May 13, 2017, South Simcoe Police were called to a Bradford gas station for a report of theft of gas. Through investigation and the use of surveillance video, the officer was able to identify the vehicle and the driver. The same suspect is responsible for two other thefts of gas at this location over the last two weeks.

On Monday, May 15, 2017, the suspect, a 17-year-old Bradford boy, was located and charged with three counts of Theft Under $5000.

He will appear in court at a later date.

Suspended driver

INNISFIL - On Saturday, May 13, 2017 around 8:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police were called by a concerned citizen who reported a possibly impaired driver at the LCBO in Alcona. A responding officer stopped the suspect vehicle and spoke with the driver. No signs of impairment were noted but the man's driver's licence was under suspension. A 44-year-old Innisfil man has been charged with Drive Under Suspension. He will appear in court at a later date.

Stolen bike

INNISFIL - On Friday, May 12, 2017, a bicycle was stolen from Lakeside Retirement Centre on Innisfil Beach Road. The bike is described as an orange "Gary Fisher Mamba" mountain bike with black accents. It has Hutchison Chameleon tires with green lettering. Anyone with information on this theft is asked to call South Simcoe Police or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
