Teen charged following double stabbing in Wasaga Beach

Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have made an arrest in a stabbing investigation in Wasaga Beach that resulted in two victims with serious injuries.

On June 17, 2021, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a 9-1-1 call for reports of two 18-year-old male victims with serious injuries on the Main Street bridge in Wasaga Beach. Simcoe County Paramedics transported both victims to local hospital and one was later airlifted by Ornge to a Toronto-area trauma centre.

The initial police investigation revealed that an altercation took place between the victims and the suspect, resulting in both victims being stabbed.

On June 24, 2021, members of the Huronia West OPP Crime Unit, with assistance from the Southern Georgian Bay Crime Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in Wasaga Beach and arrested the suspect.

As a result, a 15-year-old male from Wasaga Beach, has been charged with:

  • Attempted murder - two counts
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Robbery
  • Failure to comply with probation order

The accused is being held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood scheduled later today.
