The officer located a male inside the rear entrance of the home with a female attending to an injury on his leg

*************************
On Jan. 6, 2018 around 5:45 a.m., South Simcoe Police responded to a call involving a truck that struck a house near Wilson Drive and Metcalfe Drive in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.  When police arrived the truck was found unoccupied with major front end damage.

While the officer was tracking the footprints left in the snow, he could hear a man screaming in pain. The officer located a male inside the rear entrance of the home with a female attending to an injury on his leg. After further investigation, the officer learned the injured male was the driver of the truck who was found to (allegedly) be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

(It is alleged) the 25-year-old male from Alliston drove the truck into the house and thought that by stabbing himself in the leg and claiming his truck was about to be stolen, he wouldn't be charged. He was transported to hospital and treated and released. His injury was non life threatening.

The male was charged with:

  • Impaired driving
  • Fail to remain at the scene
  • Dangerous operation
  • Public mischief
  • Failure to provide blood sample

He will appear in court on Jan. 25, 2018 to answer to these charges.
