Barrie Police Service was called to two retail locations on Bayfield Street after two men were seen grabbing items and fleeing the area in the same get-away car driven by a third male.

On Saturday, April 14, 2018 between 3 p.m. and 3:10 p.m., two males entered the Factory Direct located at 400 Bayfield St. in the City of Barrie, when one male grabbed a Panasonic 4K upscale blu-ray player and ran from the store, setting off alarms. Employees working at the time were able to run after the males but could only catch a glimpse of the get-away car.

Within moments, (it is alleged that) the same group of males attended Old Navy located at 468 Bayfield St. in the City of Barrie. At this location, the males are observed selecting items in a mesh shopping bag and dashing from the store, again setting off alarms alerting staff.

An off duty officer was also alerted by the alarm, and although unaware of the ongoing incident, collected the licence plate of the vehicle as it pulled out of the parking lot.

A third male was observed as being involved as the driver waiting in the vehicle to flee, however police have yet to collect surveillance that captures this suspect. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen and has since be located abandoned in Springwater Township.

The identify of the three suspects is currently unknown. The surveillance video available at this time does not show a clear view of the suspects faces, however the stature and clothing worn by the suspects is identifiable.
