Barrie Police were called to the Allandale Recreation Centre, located at 80 Little Ave., in the City of Barrie, by citizens who had caught a thief in the act.
On Sunday, Apr. 30, 2017 at 4:20 p.m. citizens at the Rec Centre observed a male snatch a purse sitting next to its owner. Four (4) people took chase and caught the male outside as he ran westbound towards Little Avenue. The males were able to hold the suspect until police arrived.
The 19-year-old Barrie male was charged with theft under $5,000 and will be in Barrie Court to answer to his charge later this month.
