Barrie Police have received video footage of an attempt theft that occurred over the weekend and wish for the public's assistance in identifying the female suspect.

On Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 at 7:20 p.m. the female suspect entered the Canadian Tire located at 320 Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie. She selected a robot vacuum and attempted to leave through the rear entrance of the mall, which was closed.  

She proceeded to head towards the front of the store, passing all cashiers and heading to the customer service desk where she inquired with the manager how she can go about returning the item.  

The manager seized the vacuum and the female suspect fled from the store last seen walking eastbound towards Bayfield Street. 

Description:

  • Female, white
  • Mid-forties to late fifties
  • Long brown hair
  • Thin build
  • Partially or fully missing teeth
  • Wearing black jeans, black running shoes and blue ¾ length winter jacket
