On Monday, May 22, 2017 at 6:48 a.m., police observed a suspicious vehicle parked at the rear of Quality Inn, located at 75 Hart Drive, in the City of Barrie. A male and female were located inside a vehicle, rented from the GTA, smoking (suspected) marijuana. Neither had identification on them and when asked, the male verbally provided police with what the investigation revealed as two fake names.

As police attempted to place the male under arrest from the driver’s side of the vehicle, he became resistant. At the same time the female lunged towards the driver’s side of the car grabbing a bag at the male's feet. She then attempted to leave the vehicle leaving the bag behind. The bag the female grabbed was searched and a loaded 9mm GLOCK handgun with nine rounds of ammunition was located as well as a quantity of heroin and drug paraphernalia.
