Mutliple charges laid after home heavily damaged

On June 30, 2017, the Midland Police service received a call from a home owner located at the south end of town. The complainant advised they were receiving text messages from an angry family member who had claimed to have broken into the complainants home and damaged property. 

Police arrived on scene to find the complainants home heavily damaged and filled with propane or natural gas. Investigation lead officers to the suspect's location where he was arrested and charged. The suspect was also found to be in possession of property belonging to the complainant.

The suspect was held for a bail hearing and will appear in the Barrie Court of Justice.

Charges:
    •    Utter threats to cause damage to property Sec. 264.1(1)(b) C.C.
    •    Break and enter - commit indictable offence Sec. 348(1)(b) C.C.
    •    Mischief to property Sec. 430(1)(a) C.C.
    •    Arson (attempted) Sec. 434 C.C.
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime sec. 354(1)(a) C.C.

Charged: Forrest Dorion of Midland (24 years of age)
