Kitchen dispute leads to assault charges

Barrie Police Service was called to a residence in the east end of Barrie after a call was received that two males were fighting in the kitchen.

On Thursday, Jan. 4, 2017 at 2:50 a.m., police attended an address on Carlton Road, in the City of Barrie, in regards to two males fighting. The investigation revealed the males both resided at the house and the dispute was sparked by a disagreement over work. 

During the altercation, the accused male reportedly threatened, punched and pulled a knife on the victim, who was trying to make a late night snack after his work shift.

A 25-year-old Barrie male has been charged with utter threats, assault and assault with a weapon. He was held at the Barrie Police Service to attend bail court Thursday morning to answer to his charges. The victim did not sustain serious injuries in relation to the fight.
