Innisfil woman faces drug charges

INNISFIL, ON - On Friday, September 2, 2016, a motor vehicle was stopped by police on the 20th Side Road of Innisfil for a Highway Traffic Act violation.  

The officer approached the vehicle and could smell the odour of marijuana coming from within. The female driver was questioned about the odour.  

The officers suspicions were confirmed when the driver handed over a partial marijuana cigarette. The woman was arrested for minor possession of marijuana.  

However, police searched the vehicle after the arrest and located two jars full of suspected marijuana. A 32-year-old Innisfil woman is charged with Possession Of Marijuana Over 30 Grams.  

She was released at the scene on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
