INNISFIL - On Tuesday, April 3, a South Simcoe Police officer on patrol noticed a large truck that had a significant lean to the right. The vehicle was pulled into the MTO commuter lot on Innisfil Beach Road and Highway 400. When the vehicle turned into the lot, the officer observed further leaning and the rear passenger tires bulge out. Investigation revealed the truck was overweight carrying a large quantity of steel.

The truck was escorted to a yard where the steel could be off loaded and redistributed so as to not exceed the proper limits. A second truck attended the scene to take the extra steel. Repairs were made to the truck and both vehicles left with their loads. The driver and company face numerous charges relating to the overweight vehicle and mechanical defects.
