INNISFIL - A 25-year-old Port McNicoll man is facing charges after two citizens reported a suspected impaired driver on Highway 400 in Innisfil.

On Saturday, May 19, 2018, around 3 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers received a call from one citizen who reported following an erratic vehicle southbound Highway 400 into the OnRoute.

Officers then received a call from a second citizen in the OnRoute parking lot who witnessed the same driver get of out his vehicle and appear to be intoxicated.

When police approached the man, they detected an odour of alcohol. The man was placed under arrest and transported to South Division. Testing revealed blood alcohol levels more than three times the legal limit.

The 25-year-old man was charged with impaired care and control and over 80. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Court with a date in June.
