On Friday, October 14, at approximately 11:50 p.m., a 32-year-old male cyclist was located lying on the ground next to a bicycle in the area of Bradford Street. The cyclist was transported to hospital as a precaution due to a minor head injury.

On Saturday, October 15, Barrie Police received updated information in regards to the cyclist's injuries. The injuries were consistent with some form of impact and therefore police re-opened the investigation.

Upon reviewing video surveillance of the incident police have confirmed that the cyclist's injuries were sustained after striking a hydro pole and that there was no vehicle involved. Police are therefore not looking for any suspect information.

The cyclist's injuries are serious but non-life threatening.

Barrie Police would like the thank the local media for their assistance with this investigation.
