Coin boxes lifted. Police want to know by whom

The Barrie Police are requesting the public’s assistance to identify a suspect following a theft from Bayfield Mall, located at 320 Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie.

Police obtained video surveillance of the theft that occurred on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at approximately 3:55 p.m. The male suspect had taken a coin donation box from the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), as well as a coin box from a children’s amusement ride located within the mall.

He was last seen leaving the area on foot. The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is described as;

  • Male, white (20 - 25 yrs.)
  • Thin build, 5’10”
  • Wearing an all-black hat, jacket, jeans and shoes with white soles.

The surveillance video is of poor quality and does not provide a clear picture of the suspect, although police are requesting assistance in identifying the male through clothing or other descriptive features.
