The Barrie Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance to identify a suspect responsible for a theft that occurred at Georgian College in the City of Barrie on Tuesday, Feb. 14 just after 5 p.m.

The victim had been at the Georgian College library when his backpack was stolen; which contained personal items including a bank card. Shortly after the theft, the victims’ bank card was utilized within the college and a convenience store. Further investigation led police to the nearby convenience store which provided video surveillance of a male believed to be in possession of the stolen bank card.

The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is described as:
    •    Male, white
    •    18 to 20 years
    •    Dark hair
    •    Wearing a red baseball hat, black jacket, and black shoes, carrying a red backpack
