Impaired driving

BRADFORD - On Saturday, Apr. 29, 2017, just before 1:30 a.m., a South Simcoe Police Constable was in downtown Bradford, when he spotted a car being driven erratically. When the driver got out to walk into a licenced establishment, the officer intercepted him and noted several signs of impairment. The man was arrested and taken to the station for testing. As a result, a 26-year-old Bradford man was charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mgs.

His licence has been suspended for 90 days and his car impounded. He will appear in court this month.

Drive under suspension

BRADFORD - On Saturday, Apr. 29, 2017, around 10:15 a.m., a South Simcoe Police Constable was patrolling Bradford in a cruiser equipped with an Automated Licence Plate Reader (ALPR). While on Holland Street, the ALPR system alerted the officer to a passing car. When the officer stopped the car and investigated, he discovered that the driver's licence was under suspension.

A 29-year-old man from Bradford has been charged with drive under suspension, no validation and operate no insurance. He will appear in court in June. His car was impounded for seven days.

The ALPR is a system by which licence plates are checked against a database of infractions. It is just one of the tools we use as we pursue our goal to make the roads in our communities the safest in Canada.
