BRACEBRIDGE - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (Project "P") and the Bracebridge OPP Detachment have arrested and charged a Bracebridge man following a one year long, internet luring investigation.

On July 17, 2017, police from the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, the OPP Technological Crime Unit and the Bracebridge OPP Detachment executed a search warrant at a Bracebridge residence.

On July 17, 2017, police arrested and charged an 18-year-old man from the Town of Bracebridge. He is charged with four counts of failing to comply with his probation order under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), one count of luring a child on the internet, one count of possession of child pornography and one count of accessing child pornography.

As a result of this investigation, the majority of the charges laid occurred when the now accused was a youth and as a result, his identity cannot be released in accordance with the provisions Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear on July 25, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, Ont.

The investigation is continuing.
