Lydia (Lily) Zohorsky (Nee Kudla)– Passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the Coleman Care Centre with her family by her side in her 92nd year.

Pre-deceased by her best friend and husband of 68 years, Maximillian. Loving mother to Judy (Rick) Donnelly, Joanne (Bruce) Hodgson, Teresa Zohorsky (Dave Zago), Neil (Suzanne) Zohorsky. Cherished grandmother to Ryan, the late Cyril Jon, and Andrew Donnelly, Jennifer Hodgson, Lizz (Richard) Hodgson-Noble, Elena and Marissa Zago, Katie, Allie, and Nicole Zohorsky. Dearest great grandmother to Logan, Lucas and Reese Donnelly, Mateo Donnelly, and Finn Noble. She will be remembered by her sister Tamara Kudla (Allan Leger) from Montreal.

Lily was born and raised in Montreal and was a big part of her community and was known as the “school bus lady”, brown owl, and the neighborhood event organizer.

Lily moved to Toronto in 1970 and built a house with Max, in Shelburne in 1973. Shortly after that she started working at the hospital in Orangeville where she regaled patients with her harmonica playing and upbeat personality. Lily and Max retired to the Flesherton area where they spent their golden years travelling, as their grandchildren’s biggest fans, to games, tournaments, recitals and plays.

After Max’s passing in 2019, the Coleman Care Centre in Barrie became Lily’s home where she was known as the fashion icon with an unforgettable vibrant spirit. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff who provided exceptional care and treated her as a member of the big Coleman family.

As per Lily’s wishes a cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will happen at a later time.

In Lily’s memory a donation to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
