WATERHOUSE, Terence

Terence Waterhouse

Surrounded by his family, Terry passed away at home on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 at the age of 78. Loving husband of Beverley Waterhouse. Cherished father of Michael and the late Christine. Adored grandfather of Abigail, Andrew and Owen. Terry will be fondly remembered by many friends and family.

Terry taught at Eastview Secondary School for 30-years as the Head of the Geography Department and is remembered warmly by many past students and staff. During his 30 years he also coached rugger, volleyball, soccer, archery and track, bringing several GBSSA championships to the school.

Although his first love was being a husband, father and grandfather, Terry lived a full and active life and was always seeking the next adventure. At different times, he could be found skiing, playing hockey, riding his motorcycle, flying, walking, cycling, golfing or sailing.  As a member at the Barrie Yacht Club since 1973, he will be remembered as a racing legend.

At home, he enjoyed trying new recipes in the kitchen, watching Formula 1, his beloved Leeds United and Manchester United soccer matches or sipping on a strong IPA.

The family is planning a private funeral, but will be delaying a full celebration of his life until they are able to properly honour him. At this time, they will welcome all of you to raise a glass to a man who enjoyed life and who never stopped working on his golf swing or sailing skills.

Memorial donations to the Simcoe-Muskoka Cancer Centre would be appreciated.
