Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to Ed, who passed away at Hospice Simcoe on Tuesday, January 12th, 2021, at the age of 61. A loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Ed is remembered as a caring and dedicated man, someone who would come to anyone’s rescue with no hesitation. He enjoyed reminiscing about growing up in the Ottawa Valley, and nothing made him happier than staying busy helping friends with their projects. Ed loved the outdoors and had an activity for every season, including snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, and ATVing. He started at Ontario Hydro/Hydro One at the age of 19, holding many positions throughout his 35 years of service. Ed ended his career as a Grid Operations Manager in 2015. After his retirement, he often joked that, “Every day is Saturday except Sunday”. Ed will be forever remembered by his loving wife of 38 years, Karen (nee Peever), cherished father of Ashley who passed away in 2003, and proud father of Chris (Vicki). He is survived by his sister, Kathy Waite, and brother, Steve Waite (Kim). He will be missed by his niece, Taralee, and nephews, Chad and Cole. Ed is predeceased by his parents, Margaret (Joan) and Graham Waite. A private family service will be held.
