It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Erica Vanclief, on December 19, 2022, at the age of 46 years. She was originally from Barton, Nova Scotia and currently residing in Barrie, Ontario.
Though Erica was taken from us suddenly and much too soon, she touched the lives of any and all who knew her. She was incredibly outgoing and bubbly; traits that likely led her to leave Nova Scotia and pursue a college degree in the hospitality industry from Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario. She would instantly welcome all that entered her life with her big smile, contagious laugh and incredible capacity for conversation.
These qualities and her huge heart ultimately led her to a 22-year career with Easter Seals Ontario. It is with kindness and compassion that she dedicated countless hours to supporting children, and youth with physical disabilities. She worked tirelessly to help identify the right resources to counter the many barriers faced by the families she served.
Erica loved to bring happiness to those whom she loved. She thought of everyone first. She never showed up empty handed. She was always showering those she loved with food and other kind gestures. She was always everyone’s biggest cheerleader. She had a way of making you feel special- no matter the achievement.
Most of all, Erica was vibrant and fun. She loved to be with family and friends and to gather over food and wine. She was the light of any party and made sure all who were in attendance felt welcome.
Now, we are all incredibly bereft of this bright light.
She will be lovingly remembered by mother, Linda Vanclief; her brother Aaron (Janelle) Vanclief, sisters: Jamy (Tyler) Vanclief, Michelle (Russell) Moulton and Crystal (Roger) Mills. She will be dearly missed by nieces: Arielle (Brian) Comeau, Juliette Mullen, Anya Vanclief, nephews; Austin and Gavin Mills, and by great-nephew, Elliot Comeau-Jones. She also leaves behind her grieving dog, Iggy. Furthermore, Erica leaves countless friends and coworkers in mourning.
She was predeceased by her loving father James Vanclief and her beautiful dog Zeva.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 1-4pm at the
Southshore Community Centre (205 Lakeshore Dr.
Barrie, Ontario, L4N 7Y9).
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Erica’s name to Easter Seals Ontario to honour her dedication to helping children and youth with physical disabilities.
