With heavy hearts, we announce Tony’s unexpected passing at his home in Barrie on Friday, May 3rd, 2024, at the age of 73. He leaves behind a legacy defined by love, laughter, and craftsmanship that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.

Affectionately known as "Popo" to his cherished grandchildren, he was a devoted husband of 52 years to his beloved wife Jean. His dedication to family was unwavering, evident in the love and pride he held for his children: Bobbie-Jean Dacosta (Henry), Tony Tremblay Jr. (Jennifer Piercy), Pamela Larouche (Richard), and Richard Tremblay (Karine). His grandchildren, Tyler (Melanie Blier), Mikayla (Brandon Nicolas), Ireland, Alexa, Anthony, Oscar, Ava, Riley, and Jacksen, were the joy of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

In addition to his roles as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, Tony was a skilled craftsman and took immense pride in his work as a bricklayer. His passion for woodworking was not just a hobby but an art form, reflected in the meticulous detail he poured into every project.

Tony will be fondly remembered by his siblings: Bert (Therese), Gilles (Collette), Rene (Annie), Marie-Paul Labelle (the late Ron), and Claude (Georgette), along with his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Gilbert (the late Pierrette), Shirley (Cedric), Gail, Nancy (Peter), and Barry (Michelle). He will be deeply missed by his extended family, numerous nieces, nephews, and a multitude of dear friends whose lives he touched with his kindness, warmth, and genuine spirit.

Though he may have left this world unexpectedly, his memories of laughter, his unwavering love, and his remarkable artisanship will continue to brighten our lives forever.

A Memorial Gathering will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024 from 10-12 pm with Words of Remembrance by the family at 11:30 am.
