Roger passed away peacefully on September 3, 2022 at Hospice Simcoe with family by his side. Dearly loved husband of Ann (nee Butler) for 58 years. Loving father of Jeff (Sherry Holtzhauer) and Jill Deakos (Dan), adored Papa to Ainsly Tomlinson, and Abby & Tyler Deakos and cherished brother to Jan Popple. Predeceased by parents Bud and Mae Tomlinson and sister Patricia Richardson.
Roger enjoyed a long career with the Barrie Public Utilities Commission, working his way to Water Department Superintendent. In his spare time he enjoyed curling, fishing, poker, golf and doing projects around home but most importantly he loved being with his grandchildren.
The family is deeply indebted to all the Doctors who guided Roger throughout his journey.
We are extremely fortunate to have had Roger in our lives and he will be forever missed by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the RVH Cancer Centre, Hospice Simcoe or a Charity of your choice.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
