The family of Noel Southwick are deeply saddened to announce his passing on January 30, 2022 peacefully at Roberta Place in Barrie, ON.  Born on December 25, 1944 in Owen Sound, his was a life well lived and shortened too soon.

Beloved husband of Sandy (nee Keais), cherished father of sons Brook (Tanya) and Bryce (Sara) and dear Poppa of Benjamin, Drew, Ava and Connor. Survived by his siblings Bonnie Cooper (Rick), Ron Southwick (Gail), Margaret Benson (Michael) and Laura Brodrecht (Jim). Brother-in-law of Ann McFarlane (Neil). Uncle Noel will also be greatly missed by his numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Bertha Southwick (nee Brohman); his sister-in-law Darlene MacKenzie (Gord) and brothers-in-law John Keais (Carol) and Wayne Keais (Kathy).

Noel was a born leader who made friends throughout his entire life. He had a long and successful career in sales which was a natural for him as it combined his love of travel with his innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Noel retired in 2009 and spent many wonderful winters with Sandy in Arizona where his love of games and outings as well as his organizational abilities made them many new friends.

Noel was a kind and gentle man with a unique gift for humour and the knack of making people in his presence feel good. He most often connected through laughter as Noel was a very funny man.  His love of life came through in everything he did.  Alongside with Sandy his passions included travel, curling, sailing, snowmobiling, pickle ball, golf, dancing, hiking, amateur poetry, Labrador retrievers, horses, Ford Mustangs and endless good-humoured teasing of those he loved. His greatest joy in his last 20 years was spending time with his grandchildren and being their most vocal fan at their various activities.

He will be missed by all who ever shared a laugh with him. “Mourn not the absence of the flame...let us celebrate how brightly it burned” (Unknown).

Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Roberta Place for providing such compassionate care.
