Passed away suddenly at his home in Barrie on August 26th, 2020 at the age of 82.
Predeceased by his dear wife Jean (nee Demers) and by his sister Helene Chmura. Will be especially remembered by his cherished friend and companion Georgette Pilkington. Beloved father of Michelle Smolenski and Nicole Snyder. Grandfather of Josephine, Tara and James. Will be fondly remembered by his niece Marie-Helen and nephew Charlie along with the extended family, his many friends, especially those of the Swiss Club, and neighbours.
Cremation has taken place, with a private family ceremony tobe held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Monday, September 14th, 2020. A video of the service will be made publicly available via John’s online tributes page. Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate J.C.'s life in their own way...raising a glass of their favourite drink in his memory would be quite appropriate.
