Suddenly passed away, while in the hospital on January 15, 2024, after being recently diagnosed with cancer.

John was born to Frank and Henrieta outside of Southampton, England, where he grew up with his sister Sheila and brother Ken. He decided to study engineering and eventually started working on airplanes for De Havilland. In 1967, he emigrated to Canada where he would soon meet and later marry his wife, Carol. They would go on to have two sons, Robert who would sadly predecease him and Michael, for whom both he would be a wonderful father for. John is also survived by his siblings Ken and Sheila.

He then moved on to work at Spar Aerospace where he worked on several satellites and the Canadarms. Which were installed on the space shuttles and the one currently on the ISS. He would later finish his career working on aircraft for Bombardier. He then went on to care for Carol when her health and mobility issues worsened over the years, until her unfortunate passing almost 2 years ago to the day of his passing.

John was an avid lover of space, exploration and science in general. He was endlessly curious about how the universe worked and what might be out there. A lover of science fiction and fantasy, especially Harry Potter books and films which he reread and rewatched endlessly. He was also a giant fan of Southampton FC, especially after his retirement gave him the time to follow them more closely. John was always friendly and ready to chat to anyone and everyone. He had a great sense of humor and wanted nothing more than to make the world a better place for everyone.

He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
