June 4, 1959 to September 27, 2021

After a nine month long courageous battle with cancer, our beautiful Arlene passed away at Hospice Simcoe surrounded by her loving family.
Growing up in Smith Falls, Ontario, attending school in Belleville at Loyalist College, then finally settling in Barrie to raise her family. Arlene dedicated her life to law enforcement in one capacity or another and ended her working career with the City of Richmond Hill.
Arlene loved life and lived it with no regrets. She spent her last couple of months with the people she loved, doing the things she enjoyed; watching her birds and cultivating her amazing gardens!  Arlene aka “R”, gave back to the environment by helping to raise bees and tending to her pollinator gardens.
Arlene was a huge Blue Jays fan and, in the fall, Sundays were reserved for football.
Arlene showed kindness and compassion for everyone she met and her giggle was contagious. She wanted everyone to have love in their hearts and always saw the good in people. Arlene was a loyal friend and always had your back, day or night.
Arlene was remarkably strong until the end and her family and friends will continue to honour her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Loving mother to Erin and the best Baba to grandson Logan. Arlene always said that Erin was her greatest achievement.
The best sister to Colleen (Brian) and Mark. Loving aunt to Lindsay, Danielle, Beau, Brittany and Alexander. Loving great Aunt to Kaila, Trinity and Scarlett.
Thank you to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre for the care they provide to those who have cancer.
Thank you to the angels from Bartimaeus Inc. for all the additional care they provided which enabled Arlene to stay at home as long as she could.
A special thank you to Hospice Simcoe, who made Arlene’s final days as comfortable as possible. Your love and compassion goes beyond expectations.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Arlene to Hospice Simcoe https://hospicesimcoe.ca/ OR to the David Suzuki Foundation https://davidsuzuki.org/ OR to Lung Cancer Canada https://www.lungcancercanada.ca/Donate-Now.aspx
