It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Joyce Elizabeth Selwood of the city of Barrie on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the age of 86.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Kim Hargreaves (Don); her son Lee Selwood (Leslie); her grandchildren Matthew Hargreaves (Nichole), Megan Hargreaves (Dave); sister Bonnie McGlynn (Seamus); as well as great-grandchildren Zachary and Madeleine, and numerous relatives and friends.
She is predeceased by her husband of 52 years Constable Gordon Richard Selwood of the Barrie City Police, parents John and Jean Perdue, and brother Clarence.
Joyce was born and raised in Clinton, Ontario, and moved to Barrie where she worked for Bell Canada and was later employed for the Provincial Government Services in Property Management which she retired from in the late 90’s. She met her husband, Gordon, and they married in 1959. Joyce enjoyed reading, gardening, travelling, and the occasional trip to the casino.
