Samuel “Brian” McLelland

After a courageous battle with cancer, Brian peacefully departed this world at Hospice Simcoe on August 31st, surrounded by his family. He will forever be remembered as a loving father and grandfather who brightened the lives of those around him with his infectious laughter and an endless supply of "Dad Jokes". His warm and welcoming nature made him a friend to everyone he met. One of Brian's greatest joys in life was spending time at the hockey arenas, where he eagerly cheered on his grandchildren and favourite teams. Outside of the arenas, Brian found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He loved to keep busy, whether it was tinkering around his yard or garage, where he could often be found working on projects or lending a hand to neighbours. He cherished his time meeting friends for coffee at Tim Hortons, where his warm smile and friendly conversation created lasting memories.

Brian McLelland is predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara McLelland (nee Mackenzie). He was an adored father to Laurel (Glenn) Fuller, and Robert (Anne Paquette) McLelland. He was a cherished Poppa to Sydney (Derek) D’Agostino, Matt (Sara) Fuller, Parker McLelland, and Grace McLelland, and a proud great grandfather to Ryker Fuller.

Brian McLelland's passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Brian's honor to a cancer research foundation of your choice. A Celebration of Brian's life will be held on September 27, 2023 at the Burton Avenue Church in Barrie from 5 pm – 8 pm. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering and honoring this remarkable man who brought joy to so many.
