It is with great sadness that the family of Janet Maiorana announces her passing on August 23, 2023 at the age of 93 at Amica Little Lake, Barrie, Ontario.
Reunited with her loving husband, Frank Anthony Maiorana (2008). Much loved mother of Michael (Kim) Maiorana, Janice (John) Bosomworth, and Stacey (Ram) Maiorana. Janet was the proud nana of Derek (Chelsea), Steven, and Vanessa Bosomworth, Kasey (Katie) Carruthers, and Jamey (Jason) Carruthers, and loving great-nana to Maverick, Knox, and Mackenzie Carruthers, and Maisie Timmins.
Janet was born and raised in Richmond Hill, Ontario. After attending Loretto Abbey, she started working at Canadian Tire Store at Davenport and Avenue Road where she met, Frank, her future husband. After retiring from the Ministry of Natural Resources, they relocated to a hobby farm in Gilford, Ontario where they raised chickens, turkeys, and Freddy the donkey.
Janet was a long-time fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. She enjoyed golfing, travel, and knitting her ever-popular dish cloths that she shared with friends and family. Her kindness and humour will always be in our hearts.
A special thank you is to be given to the nursing staff, care support staff, and many others at Amica Little Lake, as well as Dr. Boushy.
According to Janet’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private Celebration of Janet’s life took place on Sunday, August 27, 2023.
