MacNeill, Hazel Mary (nee Drury), passed away peacefully in her 100th year at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie on January 2, 2021.

Born July 12, 1920 in Halifax, Nova Scotia to her parents George and Lillian. Loving sister to step siblings Isobel and Bob, full brother Tom, and half siblings Winnfred, Lillian, John and George.

Beloved wife of the late Rev. Henry (Hank) MacNeill, and devoted and loving mother to her children, four sons Dennis, Robin, Timothy and John.

Much loved and adored grandmother to her 10 grandchildren James, Kevin, Heather, Christine, Aaron, Lee, Erin, Justin, Stephanie and Kathleen. And her 12 great-grandchildren, Lili, David, Leia, Cameron, Nolan, Connor, Evan, Jessica, DeAngelo, Glen, Taylor and Declan.

Lovingly remembered by her brother George, niece Tammy, many nieces and nephews, daughter in law Doris, her caregiver Nancy and  fellow residents at the senior home, her friends Judy and Melanie.

Hazel was a devoted Christian, and committed most of her life, time and energy to Jesus, her family, congregation and charity. While married to her husband Rev. Henry, they spent many years between 1961-1989 involved working in Presbyterian Churches and living in communities around Southern Ontario (Inverness, Meaford, Agincourt, Markdale and Avonton). Later retiring in Bayfield and Barrie.

Hazel had many interests and hobbies over her years, and enjoyed singing in the choir, Bible study, knitting, dancing and travelling.

At her request, no service will be held at this time. Family will plan Hazel’s celebration of life at a future date.

Memorial donations can be made to Hospice Simcoe. Cremation entrusted to Marshall W. Driver Cremation & Burial Service, 19 Ross St., Barrie, ON.
