It is with deep sorrow and much love that family and friends mourn the sudden passing of Mieke Lorenz of Barrie, ON on Friday January 21st at the age of 88. Predeceased by her loving son Bruce Lorenz of Loretto ON. Dearly missed by her brother Tom Smits and sisters Anneke Smits, Josee Peters of Holland and by Wies Gaerthe(predeceased) of Toronto ON. Beloved Aunt to Monique Engelenburg-Smits, Yvonne Smits, Chantal Smits, Angelique van Der Heiden, Maartje Peters of Holland and Iris Gaerthe of Toronto ON. Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Profoundly missed by many close friends and acquaintances and her beloved dog Tanner.
Mieke’s love of life and tenacity made a lasting impact on the many people she came across. Cremation has taken place and funeral services and internment will take place at a later date in the spring and will be listed on the website of Paul Kent Funeral Homes of Cookstown.
