On Saturday December 10th 2022, Alan Joseph Lapp of Anten Mills Ontario passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side.  Alan was in his 84th year.

He will be fondly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Ruth Lapp.  He was an amazing father to Alan Lapp (Deb), Andrew Lapp (Tammy), Valerie Black (Trevor) and Bradley Lapp (Hilary).  He was a very special Papa to 9 grandchildren:  Nicole, Calvin, Justin, Stephanie, Kendall, Katrina, Ainsley, Alyssa and Noah.  Great Grandpa to Marley, Tyson, Mckenzie, Braydon, Alexis and Elijah.  Will be forever cherished by Victoria McFadden.

He will be gravely missed by his close family of friends in the Village of Anten Mills.  Many afternoons were enjoyed on the deck, complete with drinks and stories and laughter.

Alan was born and raised in Toronto.  He was the son of the late Elizabeth Lambie (nee Hurst) and the late Joseph William Lapp.  He is predeceased by his adored sister Joanne (Bonnie) Lapp.

He moved to Barrie and began working in several different fields including Dufferin Concrete, Township of Oro, Oro Arena and Burton Well Drilling.  After retiring, Alan enjoyed vegetable gardening in the summer and ice fishing in the winter.   He loved to go camping with his kids and grandchildren.  It always included a boat ride to see if fish could be caught.  Alan was a true Toronto Maple Leaf fan and never missed watching a Saturday night game. He had the ability to tell stories, but you better have had the time to listen because you were not going to get the short version.

Alan in the end succumbed to his illnesses at home where he wanted to be.  He knew it was time.  May he peacefully be reunited with his family and friends that had passed before him, that he truly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Adams Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 27th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

In Lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made in Alan’s name to Karnak Lodge #492 - 24 James Street East, Orillia, ON.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of Bayshore Home Care for the support they gave Alan to peacefully pass at home.

Until we meet again.  Xoxo
