Norma Kitson passed away at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on August 15, 2023 at the age of 76. She will be deeply missed by her family and the many relatives and friends that knew her kindness and generosity.
Norma is survived by her husband George Kitson, son George Andrew Shawn Kitson, grandchildren Jay Penner, Scott Penner, Tashina Potter, Jessica Potter, and Kade Potter, her sister Carol Purvis and brother Paul Purvis. She was predeceased by her son Robert Michael Kitson, daughter Jo-Anne Katheline Kitson, father Andrew Purvis, and mother Florence Purvis (Clow), her brothers George Purvis, Ronald Purvis, Robert “Bobby” Purvis, her sisters Tessie Revello (Purvis), Sandra Kyle (Purvis), Gloria Purvis, and Donna Andrea Purvis.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Saturday, September 9th, 2023 from 10 AM until the time of service in the Chapel at 11 AM. Guests are invited to remain for a reception gathering in the Lounge.
The family is very grateful to the nurses and staff of RVH in Barrie, ON, as well as Dr. Bedard, who has tended to the family’s medical needs for many years, and to Dr. Darvesh, who was also involved in Norma’s care.
